If you know anyone who huddles over their cell phone for extended periods of time, they’re doing more harm to their necks than they may realize. But the truth is, for every inch our heads move forward we’re putting an extra 10 pounds of pressure (or more) on our necks. As a result, a two-inch head tilt while sending texts or reading cell phone messages is like wearing an enormous sack of potatoes around your neck! It can be all too easy to hunch over your computer or crouch at your desk as you’re using technology. A worthwhile challenge: Don’t forget to be conscious of your head tilt as you finish out your work week.
