Did you know that a quarter of the candy purchased and consumed in the US is all bought around the month of October? Our intake of candy multiplies to shocking numbers, all over the country, all over the world even. It is no wonder that November is National Diabetes Month to follow the aftermath of high sugar and candy consumption – raising awareness around the disease, how to reduce your risks and increase your health and eating habits.
Although it is a holiday that is tied and connected heavily with candy, sugars, and treats, there are many ways to reduce your intake this October. Why not play apple bobbing instead? Create some dishes, like our pumpkin pie recipe, that is still as delicious without the guilt or stress on our bodies.
Holiday traditions are wonderful, but they are not worth risking our health in the long run. It’s time to teach our children how to be responsible for what we put into our bodies and lead by example from the get-go.
If you have any great healthy recipes then we would love to hear about them! Let us know how you treat yourself, guilt-free.
