Taking care of yourself is the cornerstone of wellness. Find out more!
Did you know that July 24th is International Self-Care Day?
Well, let’s all take that as our reminder to start reintroducing self-care into our daily routines and taking proactive steps to manage our health in whatever way feels right for us.
Make Yourself a Priority
There are so many ways you can integrate self-care into your day, and with that, there’s no right or wrong way to do it. So, whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours to spare, prioritizing some self-care habits can help you to regularly check in with yourself, which in turn, will enhance your overall well-being.
Don’t know where to begin?
Here are some of our doctors’ favorite self-care habits that everyone can integrate into their daily routines:
- Drink a big glass of water the moment you wake up.
- Take an extra minute in the shower to give yourself a head massage as you apply shampoo.
- Listen to your favorite song and sing it LOUD before work.
- Take a moment to write down how you’re feeling at the beginning of the day.
- Pick up a piece of fruit for lunch.
- Book an adjustment for later this month.
- Call a loved one just to see how they’re doing.
- Go for a walk in a green area and simply listen to the sounds of nature.
- Take dedicated breaks from your phone and technology (these can be as short as 5 minutes or as long as you need).
- After a long day of work, say one thing out loud that you’re grateful for.
- Take a warm bath.
- Light a scented candle.
- Give yourself a foot massage.
- Listen to an audiobook or a fun podcast.
- Stretch your body.
One of the best ways to practice self-care is by getting adjusted. Chiropractic care can help you be at your best physically and mentally.
